The Eidolon Treaty

On July 4th 2085 (The US Independence Day) rifts formed in the sky all over the US and an eldritch invasion took place. The rifts spread, the death in the US fueled the capacity for more rifts to open elsewhere on the Earth as well. The supernatural was revealed as this happened and all the supernatural races did what they could to close all the rifts in the major cities. They then forged a pact called the International Earth Protection Act that meant they all had to work together to protect and ensure the future of the cities. This pact was between all the races of Earth and was entered into by the major leaders around the world with 3 representatives from each being chosen as ambassadors.

After the cities were secure, the races met again and everyone entered into The Eidolon Pact. This pact was not entered willingly by a good many of the supernaturals but they were bullied, threatened, executed for not complying and replaced, and eventually everyone signed their race into agreement. Everyone now had to register their race as part of their identity to a database that would be available world wide. Supernaturals were no longer allowed to use their abilities without registering and licensing each ability, the purpose of the ability, and adhering to laws around that ability. Once registered they were no longer allowed to use it for any illegal reasons or reasons they are not licensed specifically to use it. All people were now also subject to a public classification system that assisted in displaying how dangerous an individual is. This classification is based on your species (human, superhuman, werewolf, etc), your education level, criminal background, wealth and social status, the supernatural abilities you have registered & licensed, why they are licensed, how powerful those abilities are, your job, who you work for, and the like.

Riots broke out across the world as supernaturals protested against new chains The Eidolon Pact was imposing on them. It lead to the division of races once again and most supernaturals went into hiding, many refusing to register, and thus being hunted down. No surprise that it was many of the antagonistic subdivisions within each supernatural race that had forced the signatures and no surprise then was it that they were the ones that ended up taking to owning the major corporations, often having differing tasks force to help enforce The Eidolon Pact, and most widely benefiting off of the entire situation. Not that mortals are too privy to the different subdivisions within each species but the Forsaken sure know that The Pure are lording power over them and trying to eradicate them. The Vampires know when the VII and Brood are making a mess and lording their superior social and corporate position over them. And the Concilium knows that the Seers are the ones calling the shots. None of them are happy about the situation.

If you work for these monstrous corporations you gain perks. Employee Perks, Management Perks, maybe even Executive Perks. whatever you qualify for. And as things came together technology boomed and in the wake the Big Corporations took over and formed a Corporate Anarcho-Capitalistic society world wide. Overtime the vast majority of the world collapsed leaving a handful of Megalopolises for people to live in and very few smaller cities are able to keep save. Though there are ample ghost towns filled with monsters, nomads that live in the barren wastelands, etc.

Today... the world has moved on and we are in the largest city in the world... what used to be San Francisco. No one corporation owns it. No one species. The supernaturals are persecuted and try to remain out of site and the world is as it always has been... those beneath suffering beneath the boots of the wealthier.
