Insomnia MUD

Insomnia never took itself seriously. What began as a fairly bland fantasy RPG with founders determined to break free from a strict roleplaying rules-based background quickly evolved. Their mantra “no rules, have fun” led to a chaotic blend of Tolkien fantasy and Monty Python-esque British humour, complete with Blackadder, plenty of swearing and anything involving Rik Mayall. The core gameplay was hugely popular and the online and offline social life was hilarious. As a result, Insomnia became a staple across British universities throughout the 90s.
