Climb the tower before your time runs out
ClamberMUD is a hardcore, permadeath climbing MUD set on a reality show nobody agreed to be on. Your climber starts at level 1 at the bottom of a deadly tower, with a collapse timer in the prompt and nothing that will ever add to it. Reach the exit on floor 10 before it hits zero and you retire as a winner. Fail, and your climber is gone for good. Press Enter and make the next one.
Everything you hear from outside comes through Vivi Lux, the show's bubbly, relentless AI host. She announces kills and deaths on air to the whole tier, whispers dares in your earpiece, tracks how many viewers you have, and remembers what you did.
What makes it different
- A clock, not a grind. Every run is a race. Leaderboards rank retirements by time left on the clock, and part of the game is finding the fastest race and class pairings.
- Lose limbs, not lives. A killing blow takes an arm, a leg, a wing or a tail instead, along with whatever was worn on it. Whoever took it keeps it. Run out of parts to spare and you're done.
- About a hundred races and a hundred classes, from Human and Fighter to Treant, Lichborn, Chronomancer, and Mech Pilot. You start with Human and Fighter and unlock the rest through deaths, retirements, Chievos, and choices you make on your way out.
- Sponsors bid on you. Every week, a hundred in-world brands bid on players by rank and back their picks with gear, boosts, and cash. Each has its own tastes, so play to them or lose them.
- Open PvP outside safe areas. Parties, friends, and rivals share one world per tier, and nothing stops anyone from betraying you. A player kill hands the killer the victim's best item.
- What carries over: unlocked races, classes, and tiers, your fanbase, sponsor loyalty, and lifetime Chievos survive every death.
